I was asked if the title of this Sunday’s sermon was a reflection of the passage or a statement on this being the last sermon in our series on Revelation. Perhaps, it is a little of both. When we started this series, The Avengers End Game had just hit the theaters. I said that avoiding the book of Revelation is like leaving the movie before it ends. Revelation tells us how God’s story is going to end. Revelation also invites us to live into this story. It invites us to become part of the community that is on its way to the new heaven and the new earth. There are things you and I can do to align ourselves with God’s sovereignty. There is still, even at the end, an invitation to “Come!” This invitation is not easy. And there is not time to sit back and think about it. Time is up. God is coming soon!
